Google Chrome web browser for iPhones gets an overhaul with support for new features and capabilities. The latest version of Chrome for iOS allows users to use the camera to search for a product, offers improves translation capabilities, and also enables users to quickly create calendar events within the web browser.
According to the Google Blog, the new Chrome browser for iOS can open mini Maps within the web browser without opening an external app. Google is using AI to detect addresses on websites and then presents an option to access mini Google Maps within the Chrome web browser.
Another prominent new feature of Google Chrome for iOS is camera web search. This feature utilises Google Lens technology, and users can access it by clicking on the camera icon on the browser home page. With this feature, users can search for similar products. In the coming days, users will also be able to search using existing images from the iPhone gallery and the camera roll.
The updated Chrome for iOS also improves translation support, where the web browser can now suggest translations depending on the location. Lastly, users can now easily create events on Google Calendar using Google Chrome with details such as location, time, and other event-related information. All these new features of Google Chrome for iOS will make it a great alternative to Apple’s default Safari web browser.
