Padayatra Politics
With A bandage on his toes and a sprained muscle on his left foot, the Janata Party president Chandra Shekhar, wears a tired look, but his spirits are high. Six days and 120 km away from the national capital, he arrived at a sleepy sun-burnt village on the Delhi-Agra highway shortly before noon. Accompanying him on his padayatra on a 10-km stretch from Mathura to Chhatikara is a revealing experience that puts at rest the absurd statements made by some persons who dub his padyatra as hypocrisy.
