20-year-old woman jumps to death from Gurgaon mall

A 20-year-old woman allegedly jumped off the third floor of Gurgaon’s Ambience Mall around 4 pm on Monday, police said.

According to police, the woman had come alone to the mall. Although she was rushed to a nearby hospital later, she was declared dead during treatment.

A Hisar resident, the woman was a third-year BTech student and had been staying in Gurgaon since May as she was interning with a company at Cyber Park.

Police said they were informed by the mall authorities when the incident took place.

Police believe she was stressed and had come to the mall to take a walk. Police said they are looking into the matter. Her parents have reached Gurgaon and the post-mortem will be conducted Tuesday, they added.

Officials from the mall did not comment on the incident.
