The Aerocity metro station on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Silver line planned for Phase 4 will have the longest platform among all silver line metro stations. The length has been designed to accommodate heavy passenger traffic as the station will be a triple interchange facility, connecting the Airport Express line to the Delhi-Alwar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and the new Silver line.
According to the DMRC’s statement, while the other underground stations on the Silver line measure up to 225 metres, the Aerocity station’s platform will have a length of 289 metres. The station will also be constructed 23 metres underground to provide seamless connectivity to the other two lines, thus providing a transit network connecting Faridabad, South Delhi and West Delhi to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The Aerocity station is currently under construction and will have three entry/exit points. One will lead into the business hub of Aerocity and the other two will connect NH-8 and Mahipalpur to the station.
The Tughlakabad-Aerocity line aims to address the increasing demand for connectivity and transportation from Mehrauli-Badarpur, Chhatarpur Extension and Mahipalpur areas, says the Principal Executive Director Corporate Communications of DMRC, Anuj Dayal in a statement.
